The Duke Spirit: “Everybody’s Under Your Spell”

The bluesy rock of this UK five-piece is anchored by the brash, raspy voice of lead singer Leila Moss.  The band is preparing their highly-anticipated follow-up to their breakout sophomore album, 2008′s “Neptune”. If you’re a Duke Spirit fan, this brand-new track ought to whet your appetite until the album drops. Florence + the Machine: “Cosmic Love Remix”

Did you see this band’s show-stopping performance at the VMAs? Florence + the Machine are riding a rocketship of well-deserved buzz, and I can’t wait to see what they come out with next. In the meantime, all us F+TM fans can enjoy a spacious, dance-y 7-minute remix of their song “Cosmic Love”. Florence’s own description of the genesis of the original track: “The most hungover I’ve ever been when writing a song. I went to a studio after having been to a party, and I was lying on the floor wanting to vomit. We were working really hard on a song and just trying to make this shit piano part work, and all of a sudden I hit on one note, and I’d got it. We wrote the whole song in half an hour.”  Good times, Flo.  Click here to snag the remix.

Florence + the Machine’s US tour dates are sold-out, but Florence is selling some tickets (bundled with limited edition merchandise) exclusively through her site.  Snatch ‘em up quick!  Click here to view dates & buy tickets.
