AfroFlow: “Warrior’s Rhythm”
AfroFlow consists of founder Mike-E, plus DJ Invisible, singer Kenny Watson, and djembe master Sowande Keita. Their signature style is upbeat hip-hop that’s heavily influenced by African beats through drums, spoken word, and call and response. The Civil Wars: “O Come O Come Emmanuel” + “Tracks in the Snow”
The Civil Wars consists of John Paul White, hailing from Florence, AL and Joy Williams, originally from Santa Cruz, CA, but now residing in East Nashville. The duo’s chance meeting a year and a half ago fueled an immediate songwriting chemistry and creative synergy. Their second show ever, performed at a sold out Eddie’s Attic, was recorded and released as a free digital album. Their full-length debut, entitled Barton Hollow, will be released February 1st, but you can snag a preview here:
Kyle Andrews: “Bombs Away”
Years ago, Kyle Andrews traded Chicago’s bone-chilling winters for Nashville’s constantly flowing spring of music. Ever since, Kyle has been polishing gems unearthed in the cluttered corners of his bedroom studio. His first official album, Amos In Ohio (2006), set the bar for the thinking-person’s indie-pop. His 2009 full-length Real Blasty proved his acoustic-pop sensibilities were just as comfortable in big, electronic-laden club surroundings.
