Connect Brands, Bands, and Fans
Topspin is a software platform used by thousands of artists to engage with fans via the social web. But did you know that we also offer brands the ability engage with consumers online? Our widgets can be run as ad units across the web and bring unprecedented opportunities for brand engagement, consumer interactions and viral marketing.
Topspin can help brands and businesses…
• Increase brand integrity in creative and organic ways
• Generate positive interactions with users by offering a unique value proposition
• Increase online awareness and social virality
• Reach an engaged and passionate audience
Topspin can get your brand closer to artists than anyone else. We know how to embed your brand in an effective music marketing campaign and engage with a passionate audience. Most importantly, we know how to make you look cool.
Access to Artists
Topspin has deep relationships with artists across all genres of music. These hard-to-access relationships are invaluable to advertisers and their marketing efforts. By building a relationship between the right artist and the right brand, Topspin can create a campaign that enthuses and engages users. Brands benefit from the excitement and authenticity that accompanies an artist’s passionate fan base.
Opportunities for Artist Integration can include:
• Branding on artist website and email blasts
• Brand shout-outs from artist’s social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Myspace)
• Meet and greet with artist
• Exclusive branded concerts with artist
• Other custom creative integrations
Leading-Edge Technology
Topspin offers an array of customizable widgets perfect for engaging audiences in a viral and organic way. These widgets are easily shared and designed to increase interaction with brands as well as artists. The widgets also enable brands to offer valuable media to the user (i.e. free music downloads, free streaming music & videos, special offers and coupons) as well as provide a medium for users to share with their friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email. In addition, they offer the ability to collect valuable data from users (demographic, influence, sharing behavior).
Relevant & Passionate Audience
Between the innate viral nature of the widgets and relationships with our premium partner websites (rollingstone.com, Mog, AOL, Yahoo), Topspin provides traffic that will engage users in contextually relevant places on the web. Rather than trying to get users to engage with a new destination (microsite, brand community etc), we are able to message to them in places theyalready visit: music blogs, music sites, and social networking sites. By integrating advertising into users’ passion point (music), we can make the brand highly relevant to the people to whom it is exposed.

Sample Campaign:
Mazda 2 Presents Mayer Hawthorne
Mazda’s creative agency tapped Topspin to help with their “Mazda 2 Presents Mayer Hawthorne” campaign to create an Email For Media(E4M) widget to distribute across the web. The E4M is a perfect marketing tool for brands and bands alike, as it helps build an email list of interested consumers who have opted in to hear from both the brand and the artist. Brands can utilize the metrics available in Topspin’s dashboard (geolocation of fan, social influence, and insight into the specific offers to which fans responded) to devise targeted, compelling marketing messages.
The widgets lived on the Mazda/Mayer Hawthorne microsite and were also distributed by Mazda’s PR team. The campaign was picked up by premium sites such as Spin and LA Weekly where it had considerable exposure. In total the widgets received almost 2 million pageviews on the web, all of which were premium editorial placements (not paid advertising). Over 10,000 people volunteered their email address to receive more information from Mazda/Mayer Hawthorne. Users who provided their address were rewarded with a Thank You email that had a free year long subscription to Spin magazine.
